Create With AI
Turn an idea, script, or finished voiceover into a draft video inside Video Creator. Create With AI uses presets, skills, narration, and sourced media to build the first pass for you, then gives you a timeline you can refine before export.
Best fit for creators who are not starting with a finished folder of clips and want Fractal to help with sourcing, pacing, narration, and first-draft assembly.
Why Creators Use It
This is the workflow for moving from concept to editable draft when you need more than clip shuffling alone.
Start without footage
Begin from a topic, saved story, pasted script, or voiceover instead of waiting until every asset is prepared first.
Turn writing into an edit
Create With AI builds pages, clip rules, and a timeline draft inside Video Creator so you are refining a plan instead of assembling from zero.
Keep control after generation
Refresh weak sections, lock the parts you like, adjust timings, and export only after the draft feels usable.
How Create With AI Works
The docs describe Create With AI as a guided flow: story source first, workflow behavior second, project settings last. Platinum unlocks the workflow overall, and Diamond unlocks the preset mixing layer for Diamond-only AI presets.
Choose the story source
Start from a saved story, pasted script, popular niche generation, or a voiceover-led workflow.
Pick a preset
Select the style framework that tells the AI editors how the final video should feel, pace, and source media.
Set narration and length
Choose a voice or saved narrator, or skip generated narration if your own voiceover should control pacing.
Choose the skills
Turn on the behaviors you want for sourcing, text, subtitles, music, motion, and polish. On Diamond presets, Step 3 now lets you mix AI Video, A-Roll, B-Roll, sourced footage, and motion graphics instead of staying locked to one mode.
Create the draft
Fractal generates the plan, gathers sources as needed, and opens the result inside Video Creator for review.
Refine and export
Refresh clips, lock the good sections, keep editing in Video Creator, and export when the draft is ready.
Preset, Skills, Then Settings
video shufflr docs keep coming back to this three-part setup because it explains how the workflow behaves.
Preset first
Pick the format that matches your niche or editing style so the first draft starts closer to your real goal.
Narration and length second
Lock in the voice, narrator, skip-voiceover choice, and target runtime because those choices shape pacing before the final behavior layer.
Skills last
Use skills after that to decide how aggressively the run sources footage, adds captions, handles music, or generates visuals. For Diamond-only presets, that also means shaping how much of the final script stays presenter-led versus switching into sourced B-Roll or motion graphics.
Four Ways To Start
Step 1 in the docs is all about telling the workflow what story it is editing before you move on to later controls.
Popular niche
Use this when you want Fractal to help generate the story path instead of bringing a finished script.
Saved story
Reuse a script already saved in the app and move straight from writing into the edit workflow.
Paste your script
Best when your message and structure are already decided and you want the AI focused on editing and sourcing.
Voiceover-first
Bring your finished audio and let it become the timing backbone while the preset still controls pacing and visuals.
What You Can Shape Before The Run
These are the controls the docs emphasize most because they change the quality, speed, and style of the output.
Unlimited sources
Pull from a wider footage pool for better matches and more visual variety, with the tradeoff of longer runs.
Include images
Mix stills into the plan for explainers, stats, concepts, and tutorial-style visuals that do not rely on video alone.
Images-only mode
Useful for slideshow-style workflows where the voiceover or music drives pacing more than the footage does.
Use Library Assets
Search your saved media first so each good project becomes faster to build the next time.
Text, subtitles, and music
Add overlays, captions, background music, and sound support so the draft feels more complete before manual cleanup.
Analyze source videos
Add a slower but higher-quality review pass that filters weak or off-topic source clips before assembly.
Diamond preset mixing
Diamond-only presets still start in AI Video, but Diamond users can now switch to A-Roll or B-Roll and then layer in video sourcing, motion graphics, chapter cards, and support clips. That means one run can stay mostly talking-head while still cutting to proof footage or graphic explainers exactly where the script needs them.
Mix A-Roll, B-Roll, And Generative Visuals
Diamond presets no longer force a single visual execution path once you reach the skills step.
AI Video stays the default
Diamond presets still open with AI Video selected first so the preset keeps its intended visual identity, but you are no longer locked there.
A-Roll can now source support footage
Choose A-Roll, then enable source videos to get scripts that stay mostly presenter-led while still making room for supporting B-Roll on proof beats, examples, and scene-setting moments.
A-Roll can also add motion graphics
Turn on motion graphics instead of footage, or combine both, so key definitions, comparisons, and emphasis moments break out into graphics without losing the talking-head backbone.
This mix-and-match behavior is Diamond-only for Diamond presets. Platinum still gets Create With AI, but Platinum does not unlock Diamond preset editing or the Diamond generative preset library.
Narration Often Controls Pacing
The docs position narration as one of the biggest pacing controls in the whole workflow.
Choose a voice or narrator
Use a simple voice for speed, or a saved narrator if you want the same sound and writing style across projects.
Match total length to the VO
If you already have a voiceover, set total length to match it so the visual plan follows your actual spoken runtime.
Skip narration when needed
Keep your own script and outside voice work intact by skipping generated narration and building visuals around your original audio.
Review Inside Video Creator
Refresh weak parts
Replace clips or sections that miss the brief without throwing away the whole draft.
Lock the good sections
Protect the moments you like while you continue iterating on weaker areas.
Keep editing or export
Use Video Creator for manual refinement, then export once the plan is strong enough to publish.
What Access Includes
Platinum workflow
Create With AI is part of the Platinum tier and is positioned in the docs as one of the core AI creation workflows.
