Privacy Policy
Effective date:
This policy covers the Fractal Video Shufflr website, checkout pages, and desktop app. It explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how advertising, analytics, and purchase tracking work on the site.
Quick summary: we use Stripe for payments, analytics tools to understand site usage, and advertising/tracking tools such as Google Tag Manager and Meta Pixel-style conversion tracking to measure visits, checkout starts, and completed purchases. Where law requires opt-in consent before advertising cookies or similar tracking fire, we intend to collect that consent first.
Who we are
Fractal Video Shufflr ("we", "us", or "our") provides a desktop application and website to help creators quickly shuffle, split, and merge video clips. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Information we collect
- Application data (local): Your settings, preferences, history, and subscription status are stored locally on your device using an encrypted key‑value store. We do not receive this data by default.
- Subscription data: If you subscribe to Pro, your email is used to create and manage your subscription via Stripe. We may verify your subscription status (active/inactive) using your email.
- YouTube authorization (Pro): If you connect your YouTube account, we use Google’s OAuth 2.0 Device Flow to request
youtube.readonly permission. Access/refresh tokens are stored locally on your device to fetch your channel and video stats. We do not store or transmit your tokens to our servers.
- Website usage and device data: When you visit our website or checkout pages, we may collect IP address, browser type, pages viewed, referring URL, page URL, approximate location derived from IP, and basic device information.
- Purchase and event data: We record events such as page views, pricing-page visits, checkout starts, successful purchases, transaction IDs, plan selections, and the value/currency associated with those transactions.
- Cookies and similar technologies: We and our service providers may use cookies, local storage, pixel tags, and server-side tagging identifiers such as analytics cookies and ad attribution identifiers including
_fbp and _fbc. See “Cookies, advertising, and analytics” below.
How we use information
- Provide core app features and Pro‑only features.
- Verify and manage subscriptions (via Stripe).
- Fetch your YouTube channel statistics and video statistics when you explicitly connect your account.
- Improve the website and app based on aggregated analytics and product usage signals.
- Measure the performance of our landing pages, ads, checkout flows, and paid campaigns.
- Detect fraud, prevent duplicate purchase reporting, and reconcile payments with subscription or credit delivery.
Cookies, advertising, and analytics
Our site may use Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel or equivalent Meta conversion tracking, and server-side tagging infrastructure to understand page traffic, measure ad performance, and attribute visits, checkout starts, and purchases. These tools may collect or receive information such as page URLs, referrers, browser/device metadata, cookie identifiers, event IDs, and purchase metadata like plan, currency, value, and transaction ID.
We may send some website events through a server-side tagging setup hosted on our behalf before forwarding them to analytics or advertising partners. This helps us route, secure, and deduplicate measurement events.
If you are in a jurisdiction that requires opt-in consent for advertising cookies or similar tracking, advertising-related tags should only fire after the required consent is granted. If a consent banner is shown to you, your choices will control those tags.
Data sharing
- We do not sell personal information.
- We share necessary data with payment processors (Stripe) to manage subscriptions.
- When you connect YouTube, data is retrieved directly from Google’s APIs to your app; we do not proxy or store your OAuth tokens on our servers.
- We may share website event data with service providers that help us host tags, measure analytics, attribute advertising, and process purchases, including providers such as Google, Meta, Stripe, and our tagging or hosting vendors.
Your choices
- Disconnect YouTube: You can sign out at any time within the app to remove tokens from your device. You can also revoke access at Google Account permissions.
- Delete local data: You may clear local settings/history within the app or remove the app’s data folder to delete stored information on your device.
- Unsubscribe: You can manage/cancel your Pro subscription through the Stripe customer portal.
- Cookie and tracking choices: You can adjust browser cookie settings, clear local storage, use privacy tools offered by browser vendors, and exercise any consent options shown in our cookie banner when available.
- Advertising choices: You can review ad settings through providers like Meta Ad Preferences and Google Ad Settings.
Legal bases and consent
Depending on where you are located, we may rely on contract, legitimate interests, legal obligations, or your consent to process personal information. Where consent is required for advertising cookies or similar technologies, we will seek that consent before using them.
Children’s privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Data retention
Local application data remains on your device until you delete it. Subscription, transaction, fraud-prevention, and support records are retained as required for accounting, security, legal obligations, dispute resolution, or legitimate business operations.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
International transfers
Stripe and Google may process data in multiple regions per their respective policies and compliance frameworks.
